Members of the Scheme should be encouraged to provide details of their nominee(s) for benefits in the event of their death, as this will help the Administration Team settle benefits promptly.
Please note that death benefits are paid at the discretion of the Trustee and as a result are currently excluded from the member’s estate for inheritance tax purposes. The Nomination Form will assist the Trustee in deciding who should receive the benefits.
The member should download and complete a Nomination Form and send this to the Administration Team at the Trust.
The DB Online facility is available for defined benefit (DB) members of SHPS and SHAPS schemes. They can amend their nomination details directly using this secure system.
