TPT Retirement Solutions (TPT), one of the UK's leading workplace pension providers, has announced that Joanna Matthews will succeed Sarah Smart as Chair of its Trustee Board.

Joanna is a professional independent trustee and a Director of Capital Cranfield, and brings extensive experience of chairing large and high-profile pension schemes. She is currently Chair of the Royal Mail Pension Plan, the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme, the Siemens Benefit Scheme, the Vodafone Group Pension Scheme and the Civil Aviation Authority Pension Scheme, and will continue to Chair these after her appointment to TPT's Trustee Board.

Joanna is a lawyer by training and prior to moving into independent trusteeship 10 years ago, Joanna was a partner in a top pensions law practice. She brings a wealth of expertise in areas including funding and investment strategy and regulatory and stakeholder engagement.

Mike Ramsey, Chief Executive of TPT Retirement Solutions, said: "We are delighted to announce Joanna's appointment as Chair of our Trustee Board. Her extensive experience will be invaluable in ensuring the continued growth of TPT and delivering the best possible outcomes for our members.

"I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Sarah Smart for all her contributions to TPT over the last eight years. Sarah has been a transformational and inspirational Chair.

"Since Sarah joined TPT in 2010, membership has nearly doubled and assets under management have grown from £4.3 billion to £10 billion. Under Sarah's guidance TPT has reinvented itself; launching a new DC offering in 2012, a new strategy positioning it as a DB consolidator in 2015 and a new governance structure in 2016.

"A relentless champion for members, Sarah leaves TPT in great shape. We wish her all the best in the future."

Joanna Matthews said: "I'm thrilled to accept this position as Chair of TPT's Trustee Board and look forward to working across the organisation to ensure that the best possible outcomes are delivered to our members."

Sarah Smart said: "I wish Joanna the best in her new role, in which I'm sure she'll prove incredibly successful. Her proven track record and experience makes her ideally placed to lead TPT's Trustee Board in the future.

I'd like to thank the team at TPT for all their support over the past eight years and wish them the very best for the future."
