Could you be a member of the SHPS Scheme Committee?

From 1 October 2019, there will be two vacancies on the Social Housing Pension Scheme (SHPS) Scheme Committee (SC). This five-strong team, overseen by TPT’s Trustee and led by an independent Chair, is looking for members of the SHPS defined benefit (DB) scheme to help manage its Funding and Investment Strategy.

The successful applicants will support the Trustee in ensuring that members’ benefits are safeguarded and that decisions are made in the best interests of the Scheme.

You’ll need to put the time in (around eight days per year) but it will be extremely rewarding, with ample opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge you’ll need to carry out the role.

Applications from all backgrounds are welcome, however, candidates with previous non-executive board or committee experience should highlight any relevant knowledge they have in the oversight of defined benefit pension scheme funding and investment.

How do I find out more?

You can find out more about the Scheme Committee, and what the member role will involve, in the document ‘What does the Scheme Committee do?’. You can also find more detailed information about SHPS, the Committee and the application process – including the application form – within the Application Pack.

Once completed, the form must arrive at the address below, or be sent to shpscommittee@tpt.org.uk, by 5pm on Monday 29 July 2019.
