Dean enjoyed a 44 year career in Financial Services, including five years serving on the Board of Hinckley & Rugby Building Society as Chief Customer Officer, prior to his retirement from his Executive role in May 2022.

Responsibilities included all aspects of product design and development, retail distribution, operations, Information systems, cyber security and operational resilience, supporting a core focus upon delivery of consistent, high quality, customer experiences.

His career has encompassed Board level roles across many different areas of retail financial services, including deposit taking, lending, asset management, trusts, general and life insurance, working for multiple plc and mutual organisations, and has included governance responsibilities for asset management and associated investment performance. He has also previously served as a Trustee of a Staff Pension Scheme.

Dean is a Chartered Director, being a Fellow of The Institute of Directors, a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Banking and a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing. He has an MBA from Henley Management College. with a passion for continuous professional development.

Self-development in recent years has included a focus upon strategic risks and opportunities inherent within the evolving technological environment, including courses at Harvard, Said Business School and INSEAD.

He has significant experience representing industry through trade bodies, including time as Chair of the Manx Insurance Association. He brings his exposure to numerous strategy setting, governance and risk management oversight models to the Board.
