Start your journey
Welcome – you’re officially a member of TPT! This is a great place to start if you’ve just joined us and have a brand-new TPT DC pension. Let’s take a look around.

Set up your online account
Your TPT pension comes with an online account where you can check the value of your pension at any time, change contributions and contact details, estimate your future retirement income and more. New joiners will receive an activation link by email to get started (note that a few employers don’t permit online access). Please use the activation link before the expiry date. We usually receive your first pension contribution within eight weeks of your enrolment. If you ever forget your password, go to the login screen (login.benpal.com/TPT) click ‘unable to login’, and you’ll get an email to reset it.
Your TPT pension contributions
A percentage of your salary is paid into your TPT pension each month – usually a minimum of 5%. Your employer has to contribute too – usually a minimum of 3%. Check if your employer offers ‘contribution matching’ where, if you pay more than the minimum contribution, they’ll pay more too. Sign in to your Retirement Savings Account to view or change your contributions.
-
Your member guide
Your member guide contains lots of useful information about your new TPT pension. Find it under the ‘scheme information’ section on our DC member hub.
-
Keeping in touch
We use email to keep in touch about your pension, so it’s important we have your up-to-date email address – ideally your personal email in case you leave your current employer. You can update your email address in your online account.
-
Fund factsheets
View our range of fund factsheets that provide a number of key details for the fund you are invested into with TPT.
You can choose where your savings pot is invested. It is good practice to regularly review your investment choices, even if you don’t make any changes. Most members are invested in the 'Target Date Fund'.
Interested in combining your pensions?
Now your pension is all set up, you might want to consider transferring your other pension savings to TPT so they’re all in one place.

Jargon buster
There’s no getting around the fact that pensions can be complicated. Take a look at our jargon buster to see what it all means.
